Newbie Here!

Good Afternoon all,
I have been crocheting for over 35 years, but the one thing I have not tried is grafigans. I think they are so beautiful, but just cannot imagine! I have been looking at some of the beautiful patterns , and was wondering , is there any of these that have written instructions with them for us beginners? I think if I had just one with instructions, I would be able to learn how it is done, but kind of feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I live in Chicago , and am pretty much a yarn/crochet addict. Been in a slump and needing to learn something new. Happy to meet all of you, and looking forward to learning this amazing new way of crocheting!!

Have a wonderful day and Happy Hookin!

Sheri

Sheri,

Welcome!  Smile

Graphghans can be a lot of fun!  Smile

I'm not sure I understand about written instructions.  If you're talking about word patterns, we do offer those for crochet patterns.

My suggestion, though, would be to start with something small.  I know, it's a pain, because I personally always think about jumping right in, but I still strongly suggest starting small with things like graphghans, and (with what used to be my nemesis) bead crochet.  For instance, I was determined to start bead crochet with a bangle bracelet, but the bead crochet made sure I understood in no uncertain terms that a bracelet was not in the cards until I started with big old pony beads.  That was where I learned the tension and how to hold those beads!

Anyway, happy hooking right back to you...and feel free to post photos of any of your work so we can all drool!  Wink
