[Updated/Corrected] Miyuki's Delica bead web pages show inaccurate colours?
January 16, 2025 at 4:02:32 AM
Am I alone in thinking that the colour of Delica beads as shown on the web page for a given bead are misleading? I find that if I want to see what a bead will look like when it arrives through the front door, I need to look at the sample sheet "N-2".
Here, for example
, is a comparison of a few beads.
I can accept that DB-262 is a Miyuki mistake, but the difference between the N-2 image (left) and the web page image (right) is, I would say, unacceptable.
Am I missing something? Do I need new glasses?
I'm aware that it is really difficult to accurate photograph beads that have special finishes, but none of the beads above have a special finish, but that's irrelecant imo. The actual beads look like they do in N-2, so whoever made the N-2 images got it right.
I think I need a lie down and to take some frog pills now. Thanks for reading,
B

B,
You're most certainly not alone! Wow, some of those colors aren't even close, and that single strand of 263 looks more like the larger group of beads for 262.
Lol, no, you don't need new glasses unless I need them, too!
Damn, now I can't unsee this...please share your frog pills!

I was in fact wondering if your Pattern Wizard people had an opinion? Or indeed their own stash of dried frog pills. :-)

B,
Lolololol!
We'll have to go the frog pill route on that. It was a bear to get the best color samplings to use...the fibers were bad enough. With beads, we were heavily dependent on those pills, in addition to fairy dust and snorting bubblegum just to get through the ordeal.
