I'm Shelley. My name on here... Riley was my beloved kitty, and acu is acupuncture, which is something I do. I also like to bead, knit, do some wire work, and some really crappy crochet.

Shelley,
Welcome!
I'm a fellow cat lover. I'm so sorry Riley isn't with you anymore.
Kitties are unforgettable...I still miss my childhood kitties and all of the others that are no longer here.
Please feel free to post some pics of your work...we all love to drool!
Crappy crochet, huh?
LOL, that's hilarious!

Hi Shelly,
Welcome, will love to see your work! Acupuncture, what an interesting profession. I have read many great things about it. Sorry to hear about your sweet Kitty Riley. I used to have cats, my last one was actually my son's I got him when he was 11. She lived to be 18 1/2 yrs old and was the best cat ever. I have dogs now mainly, standard poodles, my favorite.
I work with beads, mainly Delica 11/0 seed beads in peyote and loom stitch. Also larger beads such as Super Duos sometimes. LOL I am not the world's best crocheter or knitter either.
Would love to see your wire work. That is one medium I have not tried, but do have 3 books on it when I considered trying it once.

De'Andrea,
Awww, wow, your kitty lived to be so old!
My childhood kitties had long lives like that. I told our kitty now that she's not allowed to die on us...EVER. Seriously, I hope she'll be with us a good long time.
I, too, would love to see Shelley's wire work. I tried it once...couldn't do it. The wire was uncooperative.

Sherry,
We do have a gallery, but feel free to post right here in the community so we can all drool!
I find bead crochet isn't instinctive like beadweaving. I had to force myself to learn with those large pony beads; I couldn't do it otherwise. There was too much going on!
Though there's a very new technique that looks like the tubular bead crochet, called "Peyote with a Twist." It's in the August 2018 issue of Bead & Button. I can't wait to try it! I might abandon bead crochet in favor of it, since I love peyote so much.
