Hello one and all

Hi eveyone!
My name is Shannon, but everyone calls me SHANZ. Either one is fine by me.
I've been a crafter all of my life and I've been beading on and off for more than twenty years now.
I enjoy other peoples work just as much as my own, if not more than my own. I am always on a quest to better myself, as well as my craft - no matter what medium I am crafting at the moment.
Although I have been crafting/beading for most of my life on some level, everyone seems to be surprised that I am an avid crafter, and even more surprised that I make jewelry.
For just over twenty years I was a machinist. After numerous years in the field I was laid off permanantly a few years back along with several other friends of twenty plus years, and I have to say - it was a blessing in disguise. It opened the door to my dreams of being a full time writer and crafter. In fact, I work longer hours now than I ever did busting my butt as a machinist, lol... but it's a labor of love, and while I spend almost twelve to fifteen hours a day devoted to my love, I always wake up looking forward to a new day of design, and I don't regret the path I am now on.
I wish everyone here, and out there, much success in whatever their personal endevors might be.
~SHANZ

Hi, Shanz, and welcome!
I'm so glad the loss of your job led to doing something you love! IMO, when you love what you do, it doesn't feel like work. And creative work is so much fun.
(Harrowing, too, at times, but we won't talk about that, LOL!
)
If you have photos of any of your work, please feel free to share them in our photo albums! I personally love drooling.
I'd also love to hear more about what led you to beading and what other crafts you enjoy!

I love crafts and sewing, quilting, beading, beaded embroidery, painting, Teaching Beading. The love of my life has been "Writing", I call it my" entertainment time.".
I am new here also, wanted to say "Welcome" and I look forward to seeing some of your finished creations.

GypsyMary,
How wonderful...it sounds like you have a lot of fun things on your plate!
Writing is great...have you been published?
