Hello
May 17, 2017 at 8:35:28 AM
My name is Amber and I just joined stitchboard.com
I have been crocheting for 28 yrs, but just started my first graghgan.
I found your website when I was searching how to make graphgans. I also tred making my own pattern as well, but I have one question.
Is there any way to add directions (such as sc, ch1, sc) when you make the pattern?
Or do you just get the picture graghed and a color key?
Thank you,
Amber DuMond

Amber,
Welcome!
I'm not sure I'm understanding what you're asking, so feel free to correct me if I have this all wrong!
As of now the freePatternWizard's word charts assume you already know how to crochet, so they simply reflect the colors in your pattern. A graphghan pattern would technically be repetitive across the row: sc, sc, sc, sc, sc..., so other than starting chains there's really no difference in the instructions. You wouldn't have an instruction like sc, ch1, sc because a chain in between two sc stitches would throw off the pattern. You'll want to crochet solid scs in each row, consistently, or making a pattern wouldn't really work.
Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding what you're asking.
