Hi, and welcome! 

The pattern graphs of your images are for you to crochet into whatever you want...an afghan, if the image is large, or perhaps a dishcloth or potholder if it's very small.  It's really up to you...we just provide the conversion method...the rest is all your own imagination! 

You could, for instance, find a very simple blank single crochet pattern for a pillow, sweater or vest and work a small enough design for one of those into the pattern.  Or if you have a very large chart that would be unsuitable for pillows, sweaters or vests, make an afghan or wallhanging with your design.

Hello, and welcome.

In general, the grid is one stitch for each square. It's geared for single crochet or tunisian, so (for instance) if you were to use a double crochet, the proportions would be a bit off.

Well you know we all have those moments.

The Pattern wizard is the only one I know of that uses a one to one relation, and generates the grid for you.
