Cross-stitch Pattern not coming out right

It looks blury, winds up with too many colors, or basically looks weird. I really need that Artwork button added back in! I can't get this logo to come out right and I need it to! Please! Any help on how to tweak the wizard for cross stitch would be wonderful!

Welcome!  Smile

There are many factors that can be affecting your finished pattern.  Part of what may be causing trouble is the quality of your original.  If you have a blurry original, it will continue to blur if you use it to make a pattern.  Also, if you've got a jpg, that's not a particularly good format.  There can be a lot of "garbage" in a jpg file, which will cause a lot of "garbage" to appear in your finished pattern.  For instance, look at your original file, at points where colors meet.  If they're not sharp and defined, your finished pattern won't be sharp or defined, either.

You can choose your own colors, though that may not work well, depending on your original image.  I'm not sure if there's really a perfect one-size-fits-all solution to making patterns, I'm sorry to say.  The artwork button may or may not help, even if it was there; if you've got a blurry original or a jpg file with a lot of problems, it might not do any better than what you're already doing.

I definitely urge you to experiment, but at the same time, examine your original to be sure that's not what's causing the problems to begin with.  Smile  I know sometimes certain things may seem perfect for cross stitch patterns, but if you examine them closely, they may not be quite so ideal.

Hope that helps.  Smile
