Newbie question re: image and scarf creation
January 22, 2017 at 10:34:15 AM
Hello!
I am brand new to creating patterns and I have questions
I want to make a scarf with a image located on each end of scarf. When I upload the image into pattern wizard, it spreads the image across the entire graph. Is there any way to isolate an image to each side/either side of the graph? (I hope that makes sense!)
Thank you!
Crystal

Newbie question re: image and scarf creation

Crystal,
Welcome!
The wizard really doesn't know what kind of spacing you want. When you upload an image, it's assumed you want use the image as the graph itself.
There are a couple of ways you can remedy this. One is to create your image to cover the size needed only for the ends of the scarf. You can only go with the number of stitches across for now (we have a feature in development that will let you decide how long you want the image; at the moment, it does the math for you so your image is the correct aspect ratio). Then you can apply it to each end of the scarf as you go.
The other thing is to upload (if it's not beyond the maximum number of stitches allowed) an image that has the image on each end with a long enough space in between for the stitches you don't want as part of your image, the "blank" portion. In this (and pretty much any) case, you want to be sure to first reduce your image in a graphics program so it's the size across of the total number of pixels/stitches you want going across.
Hope that helps!
