Making my pattern

I understand that you can download a pattern and that you can change that to a grid pattern. What I'm interested in doing is writing my own grid pattern from a written pattern. Can I do that here? If not, is there a website I can go to where I can do that. If yes, how and where do I start? Thanks.

Hi, and welcome!
I'm not sure if I'm understanding your question correctly (LOL, sometimes I can be slow!), but I'm guessing you're talking about taking a word pattern as input and changing that to a graphed pattern?
If that's the case, the Free Pattern Wizard doesn't have that capability. What we've fairly recently implemented are crochet word patterns from original images. If you have an original - and I realize you may not - you could make a graph by simply uploading the image to the Free Pattern Wizard and setting the output as a pattern, rather than a word chart.
I can suggest word-to-graph as a future capability for the software, but my guess as a non-programmer is that it would not be easy to implement, the reason being there would be so many different ways a word chart can be printed, it may be impossible for the system to recognize what's being done. But remember, LOL, I'm certainly not technical and could be blowing smoke, when, indeed, it could be a viable future feature!

I'm a beading, knitting and crochet addict. If that means I'm admitting I have a problem, then I admit to nothing. Please refrain from helping me.
