Saw this rug in a YouTube video linked from someone on your site, but it was one of many in a gallery, but had no instructions.  I would love to have the instructions in written form.  Could you please tell me if it is available from someone?

I was so tempted to run out and get yarn today, but I looked around at the many started projects and decided I should finish something first.  I'm always gung-ho about getting started, but ...

I also decided I needed a center that had more sculpture to it, so spent time online searching for something.  Here is what I came up with (for now anyway):

The flowers in the center are called Mollie flowers (http://www.molliemakes.com/craft-2/mollie-by-name-mollie-by-nature/ ). The next off-colored circles would need to be figured out, but even though I really liked the original, I like this better.  It seems more balanced to me.  

If you finish yours first, send me a picture.

The pic of the Mollie flowers online was in the rose, I just snipped it, got rid of the background, and popped it in the original rug photo.  Did the same with the other round section.  That's why they are not white.  But I had thought to use only one color, but it depends where it will "live".  

It might be a wall hanging on the sunporch (will use lighter weight yarn if that is the case), or it will live on the family room floor (except when the Christmas tree/village is up - that's another story).  

Swatch of curtains (wip) below.  The side panels are up (not hemmed yet), but the 3 panel valance still has much work to go.  Thinking of short jabots between the valance panels and at the ends, and attached to the tiebacks at the wall as well.  

Thinking of lining the jabots in cranberry fabric with narrow strips of the botanical fabric sewn on top to create stripes.  The curtains are edged in cranberry cording, as well as both top/bottom of the curved tiebacks.

If there is fabric left over (bought this fabric years ago, so no chance of getting more), then I may do the rug in ivory yarn, but crochet from the botanical print the double or treble stitches in the two rounds inside of the outside round of popcorn, and perhaps the curved round before the edging.  Long time before this is finished.  You will have celebrated anniversaries in your new home.

Have also thought of snapping a photo of some section of the botanical print fabric (which I love), lightening it alot (it has to be pale), then using in your cross stitch program as a background for some picture.  Don't know what that cross stitch pic will be yet, but thought it would be neat. 

Congrats on this new chapter of your life.

Thanks for your kind words.  OK, I know when you do your rug it will be in color!  What colors do you visualize, and where? 

And if it were to go on my sunporch (pale peach walls), I like your color idea.  The center flowers could be a medium peach, the next bands a lighter peach and then mostly white, with maybe a touch of light peach elsewhere.  But the thing I would add would be a couple (only a couple) of green crocheted leaves by the flowers to set them off more, and maybe a touch of pale green somewhere too.  In fact, it could be a much smaller round with some different patterns as well.  Oh no! Another project!

Unfortunately my hands can't keep up with my head.  And I only like detailed projects, which metamorphose many times from start to finish.  

If I'm not mistaken, you like detailed projects as well.  I believe when I first joined I saw some beautiful Mirabilia cross stitched gowned ladies, were they yours?  I love those!

Well I gotta go.  I am trying to learn the stock market, so I can wisely invest dollars that I recently rolled from my 401 into a self-guided IRA, a friend is mentoring me, but I want to understand it all.  Long learning process.  You see, the word "bored" is not in my dictionary.

If you have projects you'd like to share, I would love to see them.

Beaded box is cute, and I really like the dishcloths.  Had done some a long time ago.  I haven't crocheted or knitted in over 30 years, yes 30.  The same was with cross stitch, which I picked back up about 2 years ago.  (My job went away the end of 2012, so I started SS a little earlier than I planned, and hope not to have to find another job at this point in my life. That's why I'm trying to manage my own investments.) I had been an at home mom while my girls were growing up, and did handmade crafts as Christmas gifts every year.  Don't have pics of any of those.  This blue house cross stitch was done back then, one of few that hang in this house (I had worked part time in a cross stitch shoppe way back then).  Love Victorian houses.  This was one of my first cross stitch projects, so aside from colors, very few changes from the chart.



Last fall I picked up this stocking that had been started 30 years ago and did some work on it, but still wip.  I decided to make the stocking longer because of other stocking patterns that I like, that I "plan" to make.  I have a 2-story house, and thought it would look nice to have multiple stockings hanging on the railings, but I want them to be uniform in length even though not all on the same cloth.  This pattern is from an old Cross Stitch & Country Craft magazine.  Many changes from the original chart.  There was supposed to be a name at the top which I changed to a window with a snow scene and added the ribboned holly. Wallpaper is changed as well as the items on the hutch, plus lightened the colors of the tablecloths.  Not sure how the rest of the bottom will work out.  So it was put aside to contemplate.
 

Started this pic then.  I picked up this kit "Red Tea Set" on clearance, but too much red for me, so decided to convert to a Christmas pic instead.





Going to be a silver teapot in the left back.  The revised design is not all worked out yet.  Thinking of a window on the back wall, perhaps an evening sky.  I found a buffet image online having a fancy designed drawer for the display to be sitting on.

The last piece I'll share now (started a couple months ago) started as the top right quilt on this cover:
 

then I shifted the window to be centered behind the quilt, changed the railing to have turned balisters, used the plants on the ground from the butterfly quilt lower left, decided to add a screen door from the quilt upper left, choosing to recess that part of the porch.

However, the screen itself will be in shades of gray as if the door is opened behind it. Added the chair from an online image run through your cross stitch program as well as the screen door to make them proportionate to the rest of the pic. Adding a couple steps, and climbing roses to frame both ends.




I'll send more another time.

No, I've never done any of those gowned ladies, just admired them.  I've not done beaded work either, but I love the beaded Victorian purses someone shared on your site.  I may just have to introduce myself to beading.

The walls in most of my rooms are also pastel, but almost every room has one of more accent walls.  The master has a deep periwinkle blue accent wall behind the bed.  The dining room a deep blue green accent wall behind the hutch.  The family room also the same deep blue green wall behind the armoire.  I think I have pics of the rooms when I refi'd 3 years ago.
