v 2.34 Removed unsupported .pdf output formats for Android, iPhone and iPad
March 27, 2013 at 6:19:11 PM
I just made a modification to the FreePatternWizard Section 7 (Output Format and Options) so Android, iPhone, and iPad users will now only see .pdf output formats that apply to their devices.
Since Android, iPhone and iPad devices do not support .pdf displays directly through their browsers, I have removed the "Display on screen option" when one of these devices is being used to create a .pdf pattern. iPhone and iPad users can use the "download" option to show it on their screen, or the email option to have it emailed. When selecting the "download" option, you will also have an iPhone/iPad option to save the pattern to your iBooks library, and once saved, you'll actually see a nice little spiral-bound pattern "booklet" on your bookshelf, with your pattern cover sheet showing! How cool is that?!
Also, out-of-the-box Android devices cannot show a .pdf so I also removed the .pdf "download" option. Android users must have a .pdf pattern emailed to their account.
Using a laptop, desktop, or most other devices, users will see three options.
1. Display the .pdf pattern on the screen through the browser
2. Download the .pdf pattern (allowing you to save the pattern to your disk)
3. Email the pattern to yourself
