I just made a few additions to help new users.  The patternWizard now highlights a few messages in red to remind you that you must choose a stitch type in section 2 before section 3, section 4, and section 5a and 5b (manual color selection) become available.

All the red notice messages will disappear, and the manual color selection radio button option (5b) will be enabled when you select a stitch type.

This version also stops you if you attempt to create a pattern, have selected manual colors in section 5b, but have not selected any colors in the displayed palette.

I'll be adding much more help in the near future.
